Our Skills for Success are the six skills that we believe are fundamental to supporting students to be successful in the future.
These skills are: staying safe and healthy, resilience, communication, managing feelings, working together and rules and expectations.
Our Skills for Success programme has been designed to support students to develop these skills and to enable them to access a broad range of experiences which are outlined in our "50 things to do before I leave the PRS".
Make something Useful:
Students were challenged to make a useful item and as a result they spent time making and painting Bird boxes:
Conquering Ingleborough
Students undertook the challenge of walking up Ingleborough
Saving Lives!
Students have undertaken a two day first aid course. All students who took part learnt basic first aid, including how to adminster CPR.
Future Alan Sugars
Students took part in a series of enterpise activities, creating candles and baking products for sale at the PRS Market stall. A number of students joined us on the stall at the Skipton Christmas lights turn on and raised over £300 by selling their products to the general public.
Taking to the Slopes
All students had the opportunity to take part in a taster lesson on the slopes in order to experience skiing for the first time. An excellent time was had by all with no falls or accidents. We hope students will have the opportunity to take to the slopes again soon.
Protecting the Environment
Our young conservationists headed into the Dales on a bright, but cold, January day to work with the Millenium Dales Trust. Students worked hard preparing the ground for the planting of trees, in order to help to reduce flooding in the area. During the course of the morning they made preparations for the planting of 200 trees!
