School Policies
The Government stipulates the statutory information to be published on school websites. This can be accessed on the link above.
Please be aware that a number of our policies are currently being updated to encompass a consistent design under the North Yorkshire County
Council model policies where possible and with the new Craven PRS branding.
Amendments to any policies for September 2021 onwards are as follows:
- Child Protection Policy: Adopted NYCC policy for September 2021 in line with statutory
changes
- Special Educational Needs & Disability Policy: Adopted NYCC policy for September
2021.
- Pupils - Relationships and Sex Education
Policy (RSE). Newly written policy to fulfil statutory responsibilities. Rewritten
December 2021 under new legislation from KCSIE and RSE changes from July 2021
- Suicidal Ideation Policy: NYCC policy adopted for 09/21
- Self-Harm Policy: NYCC policy adopted for 09/21
- Code of Conduct for Staff: Updated December
2021
- Pupils - Attendance Policy: New policy which includes updated school practices, including the six stage response to encourage good attendance and respond to attendance issues;
Roles and Responsibilites; DfE attendance codes; Change of names for Attendance Officer (Claire Senior) and Head Teacher (Andrew Haughey). Updated school registration timings to reflect the new
school day.
- Charging and Remissions Policy: Charges to schools have been updated to relect the new preventative offer. Reference has been made to the fact that the
building will not be hired out during the Coronavirus pandemic. Name of the Head Teacher has been changed to Andrew Haughey.
- General Information:The NYCC policy has been adopted in its entireity. Name of Head Teacher has been changed to Andrew Haughey.
- General: Complaints Procedure: New NYCC policy adopted in its entireity. Streamlined process to two stage process. Time limit of three months to
make a complaint in most circumstances. Time limits agreed by the Management Committee (Governing Body) responses. A number of other minor and procedural changes. Name of Head Teacher has
been changed to Andrew Haughey.
- Capability Policy and Procedure for Schools: Amendments: Head Teacher now Andrew Haughey. NYCC adopted
policy.
- Staff - Pay Policy: Updated in line with NYCC model policy. Pending results of the current TTO staffing consultation, there is a proposed
move from April 2021 to NYCCs corporately agreed arrangements for Term-Time working in line with LGA/NJC guidance concerning the way leave and pay is calculated for term-time support staff - pended
results of the restructure consultation. Upates and provisional changes highlighted. Name of Head Teacher has been changed to Andrew Haughey. AH/Management Committe to update the policy
reflecting the previously mentioned changes.
- Pupils - Children Looked After and Previously Looked After: Updated DSL (Karen Wright) and DDSL/Head Teacher (Andrew Haughey) following staff changes in September 2021.
Dedicated staff member for LAC/PLAC in line with new legislation and CP Policy changes in July 2021: Andrew Haughey
- Pupils Policy on Supporting Pupils with Medical Conditions: Changes to staff responsibilities:No longer have a School Business
Manager.
- Behaviour Policy: Updated with responsibilities,
promoting good behaviour, authorisations of staff (RPI), updated ladder of consequences, removal of some appendices, other minor changes. Statement of Behaviour (appendix 1). Andrew Haughey to
continue to update for the new school Home/Student Contract for September 2021.
- Suspension/Exclusion Policy: NYCC adopted for
September 2021.
- Health and Safety Policy: Review end of December 2021. Draft to Management Committee January 2022 for ratification.
- Single Equality Scheme: Staffing changes
September 2021.
- Governors Allowances Expenses Policy: No amendments
- Instrument of Government: With Management Committee
- CEIAG Policy: Required for change of staff and roles
- Pupil's CEIAG Student Entitlement: Head Teacher now Andrew Haughey.
- Student Mobile Phone Policy: Draft policy going for ratification.
- Students Anti-bullying Policy: In CP Policy
- Complaints and Compliments: Side tabs on website
- Students - Digital Image Policy: Draft
with Management Committee for ratification
