CAREERS MISSION STATEMENT
At Craven PRS we believe that pupils are entitled to receive high quality, personalised Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG).
The Careers Education programme aims to enable pupils to choose 14-19 pathways that are right for them and so that they can manage their careers, sustain employability and achieve personal and economic wellbeing throughout their lives.
The PRS provides a high level of support to ensure that we can meet the needs of all pupils. All members of staff are trained to give general information, advice and guidance to pupils. We work closely with YES Careers Ltd, which is a local company which has operated for 12 years, finding work experience placed with local businesses. Craven PRS also
helps to support pupils with their college taster courses, visiting workplaces, training establishments and colleges.
We welcome the support and involvement of parents and guardians in all aspects of CEIAG.
We are also keen to welcome any businesses/employers to speak to us about offering to share their areas of expertise with our students; Either in school, or on an organised visit.
All students have access to personalised careers guidance programmes as well as information and advice through the PSHCE curriculum and keyworkers. We pride ourselves on the quality of this service and are currently working hard to achieve the CEIAG Quality Mark.
Pupils are encouraged to take part in work experience placements so that they get a taste of 'the world of work'. These are arranged on a flexible basis, dependent on the needs of the pupils.
The CEIAG policies are due for review in 2022. Amendments to the policy are that the Head Teacher is now Andrew Haughey. The Enterprise and Careers advice contact Mrs Wright, or Mr Haughey via the school office from 8.00am to 2.00pm, Monday to Friday, or k.wright@cravenprs.org/a.haughey@cravenprs.org
